Dr. Sheila Dunn Profile

Dr. Sheila Dunn is president and CEO of Quality America, Inc., a health care consulting firm located in Asheville, NC. She holds a doctoral degree in medical laboratory education, and is a widely respected lecturer and author of more than 200 articles on practice management and regulatory compliance issues for the primary care medical market.

Dr. Dunn's expertise in new product development and marketing for medical manufacturing and distribution spans more than two decades. Prior to founding Quality America, Inc. in 1990, she directed product selection, marketing, and sales training for General Medical Corporation, a medical product distributor. In this capacity, she developed and implemented a wide range of successful marketing programs and taught over 300 primary care distributor salespeople and their managers how to sell diagnostic products.

Sales training and management experience for Becton Dickinson Primary Care Diagnostics, and oversight of technical services, product development and quality assurance for BioClinical Systems, Inc. contribute to Dr. Dunn's expertise.

Through her company, Quality America, Inc., Dr. Dunn develops specialized sales, marketing, and training programs for major medical manufacturers and distributors. She conducts seminars and workshops that are praised widely for being entertaining as well as instructive. Clients and seminar participants have included sales representatives, sales managers, customer and technical service representatives, physicians, laboratory managers, and medical office personnel.

In addition, Dr. Dunn publishes instructional materials on OSHA and CLIA compliance, and has written and produced two OSHA compliance videos.
